QUARTZ MAINTENANCE

POLI

A worktop with a high-gloss finish has the advantage that the surface is strongly sealed, preventing stainers from penetrating. A worktop with a high gloss finish has a stylish and modern look. No stain stopper, or protector should be placed with this finish.

Velvet

The matte finish, prone to stains and therefore not recommended for countertops. We do not offer a warranty on this finish.

Letano/leather

Due to a special treatment, this finish has a rougher surface. This specific treatment not only counteracts slip hazards, it also opens up decorative prospects. The product requires a very good treatment. This finish also falls under the standard of velvet and is therefore equally sensitive to stains.

Daily maintenance

Quartz composite, like any other material, does not self-clean.

Normal dirt such as oil, grease, lime, ... must therefore always be removed to allow the worktop to retain its beautiful, original appearance.

Normal maintenance is the easiest way to keep composite shiny and radiantly beautiful for years. By cleaning daily with a damp long-haired microfiber cloth and using a neutral residue-free colorless cleaning product, the most common contaminants can be easily removed. The best kitchen cleaners are simply available in department stores, such as Bref blue kitchen, Cif Cream,.......

For heavier soiling, we recommend more intensive cleaning. We have developed Componet for this purpose, especially for composites.

Be careful with some detergents, as they lay a “film layer” on the worktop. Food residues that harden after drying (such as chewing gum, mustard, grease,...) should first be scraped off using a blunt plastic scraper. Then clean and rinse with clean water.

CERAMICS MAINTENANCE

Satin

A matte, flat finish that is scratch resistant. This finish is suitable for any application, both indoors and outdoors.

Silk

A matte, flat finish with a subtle sheen. Like the matte, this finish is very easy to maintain and is also suitable for all applications.

Riverwashed/fiammato

The variant of the textured matte finish. This robust finish is rough and gives an extra dimension to surfaces. Suitable for all applications.

Poli/lux

This glossy finish is suitable only for indoor applications and is not recommended as a worktop due to scratch sensitivity. Keep in mind that glossy ceramic shines much more intensely than any other glossy material.

Daily maintenance

Normal maintenance with a ceramic care product is the easiest way to keep ceramics shiny and radiant for years to come. By cleaning daily with a damp long-haired microfiber cloth and using a neutral residue-free colorless cleaning product, the most common soiling can be easily removed. We have developed a Ceramic Care Kit with a very strong cleaner.

Be careful with some dishwashing detergents, as they put a “film layer” on the worktop. Food residues that harden after drying (such as chewing gum, mustard, grease,...) should first be scraped off using a blunt plastic scraper. Then clean and rinse with clean water.

NATURAL STONE MAINTENANCE

Poli

The surface is sanded and polished with a very fine grain and this gives a high gloss. In marble, the white spots, veins, nature and structure of fossils become more apparent. In both marble and granite, the colors are enhanced.

Honed

The surface is sanded with a slightly coarser grit than in 'Poli', creating a matte appearance. More sensitive towards stains.

Letano/leather/Artiskin

With this surface treatment, the surface is sanded and brushed with large diamond brushes, resulting in a matte appearance with a leather-like feel, giving it an orange texture.

The deepest areas that are softest are also sweetened during this treatment. This makes this finish preferable to the honed finish.

Anticato

The surface is rougher, the surface is burnt at an angle which loosens the softer parts in the surface. After the boards cool, they are brushed with large diamond brushes and treated with a stain stopper and/or a color thinner.

Daily maintenance

Choosing natural stone is choosing a strong and durable material. Unlike some other materials, natural stone still retains its qualities even after years.

A natural stone countertop that is properly maintained will show a beautiful patina and age beautifully after a while. It is sometimes said that maintaining natural stone is difficult or intensive. Maintaining natural stone is just really easy if you keep our maintenance tips in mind.

Poli

Dark granites, NEVER apply a stain stopper on them.

Light- colored granites: after installation, treat a few ( to 3 x ) times with a Stain Stop “W” by Lithofin. Repeat once a year.

After application of the stain stop there may be residue from the stain stop. These are visible in skimming light. These streaks are easily removed by thoroughly cleaning with Componet with a soft sponge. Do scrub well. Then rinse with water. The sheet then looks stain-stop trace free again.

Honed, Artiskin and anticato

Treat all honed granites with a stain stopper

Stain Stop “W” by Lithofin or Akemi Super for Anticato. Repeat once a year.

After applying the stain stop there may be residue from the stain stop. These are visible in skimming light. These streaks are easily removed by thoroughly cleaning with Componet with a soft sponge. Do scrub well. Then rinse with water. The sheet will look free of stain-stop marks.
