CERAMIC WORKTOP

CERAMIC WORKTOPS

Ceramics are created in a manufacturing process in which the best raw materials are mixed and then melted in a revolutionary high-technology production process known as Sintering (Sinterization ). This creates an extremely hard and often smooth material. The word ceramic comes from the Greek word keramos, which means drinking vessel or pottery vessel and was used primarily for objects made of fired clay. Traditionally, therefore, ceramics are based on clay (or silicates). There are many different varieties of ceramics that are made from other types of clay, additives or with other processes.

CERAMICS AS WORKTOPS

The ceramics used for countertops are a development from the tile industry, but in sizes and thicknesses that are common for manufacturing countertops.

Because ceramic has no pores and therefore no dirt can penetrate, it is suitable for every possible application. Due to its heat resistance up to 400°c, and stain resistance, it is a very popular product as a kitchen worktop.
