CERAMICS

Ceramics are created in a manufacturing process in which the best raw materials are mixed and then melted in a revolutionary high-technology production process known as Sintering (Sinterization). This creates an extremely hard and often smooth material.

The word ceramic comes from the Greek word keramos, which means drinking vessel or pottery vessel and was primarily used for objects made of fired clay. Traditionally, therefore, ceramics are based on clay (or silicates).

There are many different types of ceramics that are made from different clays, additives or with different processes.

The ceramics used for countertops are a further development from the tile industry, but in sizes and thicknesses that are common for manufacturing countertops.
